Re: Graphical display of engine limits

Most inputs have high and low red/alarm limits. The dials can have one red band, one yellow band, and one green band. The bar graphs don't have any yellow/caution limits yet. On the "to do" list? I know that list is pretty long, but I'm just curious! And also for the upgraded EIS with the...

Re: Graphical display of engine limits

I assume that means multiple limits can't be set in to a GRT EFIS, as in for example, an upper red line and a lower red line, together with a green range and a yellow range at one or both ends (an example of relevance for this would be oil temp, oil pressure, fuel pressure etc which have upper and l...

Graphical display of engine limits

Ability to display other range markings (eg amber caution ranges) on the HXr?

I note this is unavailable for strip gauges (presumably an old limitation of the EIS?) but for some parameters on various engines the operational ramifications of caution range vs redline are significantly different.

Re: Dimming issue and blacked out screens

Sounds like a classic clash of those two titans: human factors and engineering. I had the same thing occur (on a less critical scale and also under a bubble canopy) with a Garmin Aera. To this day I'm not sure how I made the screen go full dim but being a touchscreen on a bright sunny day with no ot...

Re: Mini-X and TT22

I don't have a GPS input to the TT22 (yet). Down under they are heavily pushing ADSB surveillance due to our huge open spaces without radar coverage, so it is quite likely in the foreseeable future that I'll need to add a certified ADSB box to the aircraft, in which case I would choose one with the ...

Re: Mini-X and TT22

I saw it implied on another forum by someone who seemed to be thinking about purchasing the Mini as a backup instrument and already had a Trig control head installed. I totally agree that it would be rather pointless. The worst that can happen in the unlikely event that the Mini fails is that you're...

Re: Mini-X and TT22

While we're on the topic of the TT22, is my understanding correct regarding the above post that when interfaced with the Mini, you cannot use the Trig control head? In other words, you have either one or the other, but not both?

Re: Mini AHRS

Thanks for that info James. To be fair to GRT, the info I got is 2nd-hand, actually technically I think 3rd-hand. My gut feeling is that the reference was to 1st generation AHRS systems (GRT certainly has been mentioned in at least one case) and I think things have moved on a bit since then. Of cour...

Mini AHRS

I'm seriously considering the Mini in my small instrument panel in an aerobatic aircraft, as a 2-in-1 replacement for an ADI (essentially used as a "I've screwed up now get me out of this weather" backup) and a portable GPS (the UI, display, and touchscreen of which I've quickly come to di...
