No, the OAT units are always the same as the main temperature units setting.

The EFIS uses a 45 degree intercept for GPS courses.

Re: USB Ports
It looks like sections 3.3.11 through 3.5 were copied from the EX manual and then not edited. Every 10.1 has two separate general-purpose USB ports, so a hub is rarely necessary. The top port can do USB 3.0 and the bottom port is USB 2.0. I've had at least one USB drive function poorly in the 3.0 po...

Re: Remote Radio Control
I responded to your e-mails about this already but I will comment here for anyone else. Radios controlled by SL30 or SL40 protocols are automatically configured for sending frequencies once the serial port is configured for SL30-1 or -2 or SL40-1 or -2. The "COM1 Device" and "COM2 Dev...

Re: Max USB Drive Size?
The HXr/HX/SX/EX/Mini/10.1 models will read very large drives. I don't know if there is a limit but it's probably at least 2 TB. The important part is the format. They only have drivers to read and write to the common FAT32 format. The new exFAT format will not work and some drives 64 GB or larger m...

Re: FLying OBS course without additional VOR radio?
This is called GPS HOLD mode. From a full map page, push the right knob, then push Next, and then you should see a "GPS SEQ" button. Change it to HOLD. Then you can use the course knob (right knob) to dial in a course to (and from) the active waypoint. If it's a multi-waypoint plan, the EF...

Re: Display Question
The CDI button should cause the EFIS to switch between a "GPS" indication and a "VOR" or "LOC" indication on the screen. The "NAV MODE" button will not change from "430" because both modes are part of the 430. The 430 doesn't send procedure turn and ...

Yes. On the Dual Adaptive AHRS, the magnetometer and air data are powered by the AHRS1 power connections.

Re: Display Question
If none of the indicators change, then it could be SET MENU, General Setup, NAV Mode Source. That should be External to follow the 430 mode. The 430 flight plan data doesn't include procedure details like holding patterns or procedure turns. It only sends the waypoints. GNAV mode can use the lateral...

Re: TRIG TT22 GPS input
Either way is good. The 38400 NN33 output is the old default. Newer units don't ship configured that way. If you have the control interface connected to your Horizon 10.1 then the EFIS will automatically reconfigure the Safe-Fly to the old defaults as soon as they start talking since we haven't chan...
