Re: Stratux ADS-B Reeceiver

FWIW, I 'remoted' my gps module with a short usb extension cable, which made room for the cable for the usb>serial converter. I used a right-angle cable in mine & added another 'exit port'. I have what's probably one of the older gps modules (and likely, older SDRs as well), and the gps won't ge...

Re: configurable GPS, take 2

Will do. Thanks for the great support! I'm really enjoying this 'old technology' EFIS. :-)

configurable GPS, take 2

Hi, I have a ublox GPS puck as GPS1. I originally configured it with a stripped down 'sentence' set, because I could only run it at 9600 baud with one update per second on another system. Sentences are: GXGGA, GXGSA, GXGSV, and GXRMC. I now have it installed as GPS1 on my Horizon HX, still at 9600 b...

Re: secondary power input and auto startup/shutdown

Thank you both for the info. After reading your answers, I re-read 6.2, 'power connections' & finally picked up the 'isolated' term in the description; that simplifies the brownout/sag cure. It's also good to know that I don't have to wait the entire 2 minutes to move the plane. 30 seconds isn't...

secondary power input and auto startup/shutdown

Hi, I've got a new-to-me HX in my RV6 (along with a Mini GA), and while the Mini seems immune to voltage sag during engine start, the HX is not. Occasionally it will continue its boot process through engine cranking, but typically hangs during boot, so I'm forced to cycle power to the electrical bus...

Re: Stratux ADS-B Reeceiver

Thanks, Jeff. I've downloaded the zip file, and I'm also in the process of updating the Statux software to the current 2.x I have a few adapters, etc lying around; I may play with wifi adapters, etc just to see what might work. If I discover something new, I'll post it here.

Re: Stratux ADS-B Reeceiver

Apologies for the thread resurrection, but figured a 'one stop' Stratux thread might make sense. I'm installing a new to me HX, and also a new to me, Stratux. What's the current preferred interface method? USB>serial (which one?)? WIFI>USB access point? Is Howard4113's adapter still the best path? M...

Re: Issues with the EchoUAT

Thanks, Jeff. Of course, this is beginning to feel a bit like cutting edge physics; every answer raises more questions than it answers. :-) My current situation is similar to Keith's; my G327 currently gets altitude from a standalone encoder. I do understand that a direct connection (rather than sni...

Re: Issues with the EchoUAT

I *really* appreciate you taking the time to share your experience; the docs on both uAvionix and GRT tend to be a bit 'center of the universe' (the writer knows all the references and assumes everyone else does too..). So, you're using the Echo to 'sniff' the KT76's RF for squawk code & altitud...
