Re: Fuel Pressure Indication setup HXr EFIS

As shown in the EIS - vdo supplement, you need a bias resistor around a few hundred ohms. The internal pull up resistor in the HXr et al is like 10,000 ohms. Try turning off the internal pull up, and supply an external 470 ohm bias resistor off the 5 volt supply, as shown in the supplement.

Re: EGT display on EFIS - 1 of 6 cylinders displays differen

The normalize mode just shows how the CHT has changed since the mode was first selected. Evidently #6 was at 219, it’s now at 220, so it’s changed one degree. Most likely a new probe is needed; they live a hard life.

Re: ADS-B+ compatibility

I may be wrong, but I think the Trig requires a "firmware" update. This usually requires sending the box back to the service center, Mid Continent Instruments in KS.

Re: ADS-B+ compatibility

Okay, you’ ve found your way into the configuration menu. Hopefully you’ve read the previous posts, and understand that you need a second wire from a different RS232 port comng out the back of the 430. Check what port number corresponds to the pin you hooked the wire to. In the configuration menu se...

Re: HXr PFD screen default

I don’t know for the HXr, but a lot of software is common to the HX.
For the HX, go to General Setup, select Default Page, select what split screen view you want.
I don’t know how or if you can flip left-right.

Re: ARINC 429 Channel Port configuration for HXr

Yes, the arinc input should be configured within the 430 for “EFIS/airdata” and “low” speed.

Re: Errant RPM Indications with HXr

Not clear what the issue is. You could send the box to GRT and ask them to check it out. If it was mine, I’d disconnect the egt/cht plug and see if it behaves properly. If no, I’d disconnect all the inputs except power and ground. If the box stops acting strange, add inputs one at a time until you f...

Re: ARINC 429 Channel Port configuration for HXr

See page 2-2 of the HX set up guide. There is very little to do other than select “Lo” speed. The ARINC 429 format is highly standardized, with identifiers attached to each piece of data. The gps will just pick out the data it needs from the many variables sent, ignoring what it doesn’t want.

Re: GTN 650/750 Firmware Upgrade

I don’t know, but certainly you have cause to be concerned. This has happened in the past, where some connected equipment no longer worked after a Garmin ‘upgrade’. I’d ask Jeff before proceeding.

Re: GTN 650/750 Firmware Upgrade

You’ll need GRT to give you a definitive answer, but probably not. The GTN VNAV data is being sent out using a new arinc format (Garmin429 instead of gamma1) that most Garmin products cannot read either.
