Misc Questions

Investigating another problem the other day, I measured the regulated 12 volt output of my EIS (red/green wire). It measured 10.5 volts when the battery buss (power to EIS) was 12.5. Is this normal? Shouldn't it be close to 12 volts? I ocassionally see variation in fuel flow which I don't understand...

Display

I've noticed that when I select "Set Limits" (pushing the left and center button simultaneously), the display goes into a reverse mode. In other words, the characters become a light character on a dark background. I think EIS stays in this mode until powered off and back on again. The disp...

XM Weather weight

Does anyone know how much the GRT XM WX processor and WXWorx receiver combination weighs? I'm considering relocating for CG reasons and need the weight which I can't seem to find in my documentation or on the website.

Thanks

One other trick Carlos showed me. When flying an ILS, once you have the needles centered, keep the flight path marker on the airport. This makes compensating for wind easy and makes keeping the needles centered easy. Of course keeping the needles centered is the primary reference and requirement but...

Re: HSI Background

I flew some approaches with Carlos yesterday and have worked out a system that works well for me. I no longer change the PFD to split screen. I leave it as I usually have it so it is familiar and I know where to find information. I did add the ILS bars to the PFD but they only display when a ILS is ...

Re: Installation of GRT Autopilot

Bob, I believe the GRT servos are similar size and mounting as Tru Track servos. Here is a link to how to mount Tru Track sevos in a Zodiac http://www.trutrakflightsystems.com/documents/ZodiacPitchandRoll.pdf Likewise, there are pretty good manuals on check out of autopilot functions on the Trutrack...

HSI Background

I have dual GRT Sport HS and Garmin GNS430. When shooting an approach I prefer to split the PFD screen to have the PFD and HSI. That way I can keep the map on the MFD and display XM Wx there. When I have this set up, the background map information displays with the HSI. For example, the Class C airs...
