Re: Engine Bar Graph
Backing up user settings is described on page 7-1 of the Set Up Guide. Go into the set up menus, select Display Unit Maintenance, select back up settings.

Re: Engine Bar Graph
Walter, Not sure what your map complaint is. Mine works fine. Perhaps you are trying to display too much. Just turn off stuff you do not use. XM had a problem for a while, with users having to re-activate their radios. I had to do this for my xm car radio. It seems much better now. This was an xm pr...

Re: EIS Voltage readout
Try powering down other avionics on the same buss, see if the voltage comes up a bit. If this happens, you have a poor connection somewhere.

Re: GPS Approaches/Missed Approach
BTW, if you are on vectors, you should have the autopilot on HDG, and fly the vector given. With the autopilot on gps-lpv armed, it will automatically change over at final course intercept.
Make sure you hit obs on the garmin only after the missed approach point, when it has gone to suspend.

Re: GPS Approaches/Missed Approach
To follow a holding pattern the HX needs to be in gnav, not enav, mode. The info comes from the Garmin over the arinc line.
Re: Updates
Usually there are two versions of software updates offered. A full update, which requires nothing. And a "patch" which will update version 5c to 5d, for example.

Re: Preferred Serial/429 Connections for GNC250 and GTX327
Redundant? I think the answer is sometimes. But some information, like GPSS steering commands (if your gps sends them) go out only on the arinc line. If you want your gps's OBS function to work you need to tell it the HSI course setting. I think that requires an arinc connection into the gps.

Re: Auto-pilot quick action keys
I personally wouldn't call one push of the right knob "scrolling thru the menus"; but the real question is, where would you put all these new buttons? In a new, separate autopilot box? Or make the Horizon box larger? Or take away display screen size? Is there a specific function you are lo...

Re: Auto-pilot quick action keys
Not sure what you are asking for. Push the right knob once and all the soft keys display autopilot functions. Left knob heading bug, right knob altitude. What would you like to change?

Re: Preferred Serial/429 Connections for GNC250 and GTX327
Look at the documents page, connections for an HX and a Garmin 300. I think you want all the same RS 232 and ARINC connections as shown there.
