Re: USB GPS

I use a Skyradar D2, with its own gps, to feed adsb-in data to my Hx via USB. The Hx does see the gps data (I labeled it gps2). So it is possible.

Re: Issues with the EchoUAT

You are correct: the rules require the same altitude source drive both the transponder and the adsb-out device.

Re: new-to-me HX installation questions

I’m sure GRT Jeff will come along and answer your questions, and tell you the age of your equipment based on their serial numbers. The Mini can interface with the Hx. But carefully decide what you want the Mini interfaced to, remembering that it only has a limited number (2 or 3, I think pairs?) of ...

Not necessarily. These are just numbers. You can try 200% as well as 50%.

Re: Sport EX "must learn first" ?

According to the HX manual (your sport may be different) obstacle warnings are given if it’s within 1 minute flight time and 250’ vertically. So maybe you were 260, 240, 260’ vertical feet above. This would cause warnings to come and go.

Re: Multiple approaches

I replied on VAF, but just so there’s an answer here too: Once you push execute the approach is ‘locked in’ to the GRT. This is so, if you have a non-gps missed approach procedure, you can go ahead and enter that into the GRT after ‘execute’. The changes won’t take effect until you push ‘missed’. On...

Re: Sport EX "must learn first" ?

I also display traffic and wx via wifi to wingX on an iPad. But, I get adsb-in from a Skyradar D2, which also connects via usb to my HX. (Don’t know the sport ex capability). I split my PFD screen, main page on left, map on right side. Right side shows traffic and wx (via usb connection). I have a v...

Re: Sport EX "must learn first" ?

Hi Keith, I don’t use the HITS. I do use the velocity vector - takes all the guess work out of heading changes when shooting an approach. Of course, using the flight director takes this up another notch. As for the map page - it’s wx radar. Just remember it’s for strategic, not close in, avoidance. ...

Re: Selectable Appr & GPS G/P deviation display

re #2. What does the 430 annunciate? Does it say ‘LPV’? I have seen some confusion where there is a long straight in segment from the IAF, with step-down fixes leading to the FAF. During the step down segment, the 430 will say ‘terminal’ mode, and there will be no glide slope. Just prior to the FAF,...

Look in the Mini-X manual, on-line.
