Engine Temps Page

Post by Bayou Bert »

I have the HXr on the left and the HX on the right. I like to fly with the
engine temps page up on the HX.
Right now my temps page has one big green bar in upper left for total fuel used.
When I put total fuel on board in the HXr the number above the bar in the HX changes
to match.
Problem: as flight progresses, the total number decreases above the bar on the HX, but
the green in the bar never moves down with the fuel usage. How do I correct?
Second issue: In the manuals the pic of the engine temp page shows two bars for
left and right tank levels next to the totalizer bar. I have no tank levels there but
sure would like to have them...how do I put them next to the totalizer bar in the HX?
Don't know if this makes a difference but tank levels are wired direct to the HXr
per GRT instructions.

Greatly appreciate any help.

1. Check the SET MENU, Graphical Engine Display, Fuel Flow MAX FUEL setting. This sets the preset for all tanks full and the scaling of the Fuel Total bar graph.

2. If the tank levels are working on the HXr, you need to configure the Remote Channel settings to send them to the HX. The Analog Remote Channel feature requires the November 2015 HX and HXr software updates.

On the HXr, go to the Analog settings in General Setup for the first fuel level input and set its Analog Remote Channel to 1. Then go to the Analog settings for the second fuel level input and set its Analog Remote Channel to 2. (If these channels are already used, you can pick any two unused channels.) Make sure SET MENU, Inter-Display Link, Send Analog Inputs is set to Yes on the HXr. Then SAVE. The HX should automatically pick up the remote fuel level input channels and show the bar graphs.

Also Bert,

To add to what Jeff said, if you have the "MAX" set to say 5 gallons for the bar graph then it won't seem to move until you are nearing empty.

You probably already knew this but I just wanted to highlight it.
(I have had a similar experience when I had not properly set a MAX value for something.)

Almost there. I went and changed the settings and now have the two levels
on the HX next to the total bar. Now have the red diamond on the total bar.
Only problem...the two levels don't match the levels on the HXr. I have 16 and 13
in the tanks and the HXr is right on, but the two bars on the HX are right at the
bottom reading 0 and 1. If I slosh the tanks they do move with the levels moving.
The total bar is now down when it should be.

Thanks

I think you have to copy the calibration table onto the HX.

The Fuel Data Scale tables don't transfer over the link. You have to go to SET MENU, Engine Limits, Fuel Data Scale and manually copy the tables over.

Done Deal

That's what was needed. I copied the cal chart from HXr to the HX and now
everything is as it should. Great to have the tanks in bar form next to the
total bar. Easy to see and read at a glance.

NOW....if I could just come up with a decent way to angle the HX toward me life
would be real good.
Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks for all the help.
