Log Files

Post by mthomson51 »

Is there an easy way to combined multiple log files into a single log file which would contain the entire flight. An automatic/utility program would be great.
Thanks
Malcolm.

Hi Malcom,

Are you talking about the DEMO log files (they have a .LOG file extension) or the new (introduced in Version 6) Flight Data Recorder files (which have a .CSV extension)? The only thing I've found for the DEMO files is to set the MAX Size option to it's highest setting (I think it's either 10 or 20MB) to reduce the number of different files that are generated per flight.

The new Flight Data Recorder log files do exactly what you're asking by default though. In fact, it continues to update the same log file for every flight, on the same day at least. I always take my USB drive home with me at the end of the day to copy off the logs, so not sure if it would start a new log file for a new day if I left it there. Perhaps the GRT folks can explain the workings better.

Take a look at www.savvyanalysis.com

I think that it does what you are requesting for the "DEMO" files.
