Max recording time?

Post by duawil »

What is the maximum recording time for the data recording function on the Hx.

On my old Horizon 1 it was 20 minutes.

It depends on how much data is being gathered by the EFIS and how much memory your USB stick has. Our programmer Jeff said it will periodically stop recording to write the data to the memory stick. This can be anywhere from 20 to 40 minutes. There should be a setting for maximum recording time somewhere in the Setup Menu.

My HX stores 55 data points every second. After about 8 to 10 minutes it writes it all to the memory stick. This takes 8 seconds, during which no data is saved. Then it starts again; save data, write, etc. Subsequent files on the stick are identified as +1, +2, etc., in the file name.
This is with the USB stick supplied with the unit.
So far I haven't filled up the stick, but I do erase it after I download it to my home computer.
