Doing an engine swap and wondering how to handle the RPM input. We have ~2001 year EIS system on a 4 cyl RV-6 that has been on dual electronic ignition since new for more than a decade . Changing engine out to one that is dual mag. Wondering what is required to convert to a mag RPM pickup?
Thanks
Converting from Electronic Ignition to Mags
Re: Converting from Electronic Ignition to Mags
The last page of the EIS manual on the website details adding the needed resistor to connect to the P-lead connection on the mag.

Re: Converting from Electronic Ignition to Mags
Kahuna,
A bit off subject; but, just curious why you would change to mags ... I would think that electronic ignition is better. I had dual lightspeed electronic ignition (from Klaus) in an RV-6 w/Lyco IO-360 ... and I loved it, for a ton of reasons, but especially on a X-country you could lean it past peak for some amazing perf #'s.
