Our EFIS systems integrate with many popular VFR and certified IFR GPS navigation systems
Pilots who want VFR-only GPS may use the iFly 700 series, Garmin X96 series, Garmin Aera series, and other portables instead of or in addition to the GRT VFR-WAAS GPS module. In addition to convenience and simplicity, the GRT GPS module will also satisfy the GPS requirement for ADS-B Out until the ADS-B GPS certification requirements take effect in 2020.
The following is a list of popular IFR navigation units suitable for serial and/or ARINC 429 interface with GRT EFIS systems. ARINC 429 comes standard with all HX and HXr EFIS systems and is available as an optional external module for Sport and Horizon HS/WS systems. Flight plans, position and course information from these units transfer to the GRT HSI and moving map. The GRT autopilot captures and follows vertical navigation signals from units capable of precision approaches.
