Re: configurable GPS
Thanks Jeff. By the way, that GPS is terrific. Logs on very quickly, even in the hangar when testing stuff. During rolls the GNS 480 will lose lock and the HX EFIS effortlessly transitions to the AHARS GPS while the 480 sorts things out. A very nice and useful backup GPS.

configurable GPS
Not a critical issue but I have the optional configurable GPS as a part of the dual Adaptive AHARS I added earlier this year. I have both serial (in and out) connected. Where do i "configure" the GPS?

Re: GPS over USB
I can't speak for the EXP, but the GPS is available to my HX from the 600B via the serial link.

Re: Adaptive AHRS
Thanks Jeff. I forget that I have to hit the rewind button on my browser sometimes to update the software available page!

Adaptive AHRS
I placed an order for an upgrade to the dual adaptive AHRS with the optional GPS receiver. Looking forward to receiving it. Will the current HX software of 6c accommodate the new AHARS?

Re: Flight Data Recording
I use a 12V power source I bought at Radio Shack and power the main bus with a connection inside the oil service door. Great for "playing" with the HX's and/or GPS in the hangar. No fears of draining the battery.
Re: ADS-B
I presume this works the same way at the HX. Only aircraft that are transmitting the ADS out signal have the call sign attached. In my experience in the Tampa Bay area, few aircraft have the call sign on the screen, but enough do that I know that it is working!

Re: HX Warning Light Output
That is interesting. I turned off all the analog ILS inputs after I installed the HX's to replace the WS's since I believed those connections were no longer operable. The ARINC 429 connection works perfectly of course so it has caused no problems.

Re: SVE AGL
Jeff: Once more comment for your information data base. This explains why whenever I change the altimeter setting on the PFD, I get a GPS dif xxxfeet message below the altimeter setting. That message is zero when the altimeter is set to 29.92 (QFE). In essense, the current altitude is being compared...

Re: SVE AGL
Thanks Jeff: That explains it. I will make "Baro" the SVL setting and move on! It is a great safety feature. Appreciate it.
