SVE AGL
Am trying to use the new SVL AGL feature of revision 6c. With GPS as the selection, on the ground it reads zero as I would expect. Inflight the readout is pressure altitude! Makes no sense. As a test, I went out over the Gulf of Mexico. At 2500 MSL on the altimeter, the Garmin 480 GPS showed 2550 fe...

Re: Charts on HX
I agree that the sectionals and low altitude charts are of limited value because of readability issues. I find I still prefer to use the terrain or shade view on the map. The wonderful value is for the geo referenced approach charts and taxi diagrams. They work very well and I am very pleased with t...

Re: Get Georeferenced Plates
The folder GRTCharts is only used to tell the download manager what account is being used. Nothing will transfer into it. The file name that downloads from Seattle Avionics is the one you should be using. Also the flash drive has to be in place before powering up the HXr. If you want charts on both ...

Re: Safety Concern- Near Midair
Since we are on the subject, I will again put a pitch in for a distance filter to work in conjunction with the traffic filter. I think showing traffic more than say 10 miles away is a serious distraction and also tends to cover up map details. I do thank you for the altitude filter. I use +/- 1500 f...

Re: ADSB Display
That is a new feature that shows how many ground stations the ADS is in contact with.

Re: Ghost Image
Bob: Thanks for the last posting. I have both ADS in and out and my N number and hex code in the settings. I get my "ghost" image right after takeoff. Now I realize it is when I have not linked with an ADS ground station yet. Once I am linked, the ghost goes away. Thanks for the explanation!

Re: Ghost Image
I get that also on occasion. Most often right after takeoff. Can't say I like it either!

Are the flash drives in place when you boot up? I know the drives must be "recognized" during the initial boot.

Re: Safety Concern- Near Midair
You also can go into the GRT settings and specify that traffic only plus or minus such and such altitude will be displayed. I use +/- 1500 feet, so I don't get bogged down by traffic 5000 feet above me (who cares). I don't know if the Sport does this, but the HX displays traffic on the PFD as well w...
