Re: Mini-X making Internal Magnetometer function

The internal magnetometer in older Mini displays is for gyro stability only. It does not provide a compass heading. You need an external magnetometer or GPS track with 5+ mph ground speed to get a heading or track display.

Re: HxR: EGT/CHT History timeline - changable?

On the displays with fewer buttons it was the right knob on the full engine page. When we redesigned the history graph and menus for the HXr and 10.1 we lost that function. I will put this on our to-do list to review.

Re: Connector A18

Yes, the Mini will automatically send the GPS time around once it gets GPS data as long as the receiver is getting satellite signals. The other screens should pick this up as long as they are set to Auto clock mode in SET MENU, General Setup, Clock (this is the default).

Re: Connector A18

The battery backup in the Mini doesn't power the GPS when the EFIS is off. It either powers the whole thing or nothing. The EFIS will only share time from a GPS. If the Mini's GPS is receiving then it will share the time from the GPS. If an EFIS somehow has valid time without any other time inputs t...

Re: Cannot figure out how to change altimeter setting

It sounds like this Mini had a remote Air Data module connected. If that's not the case anymore you can go to SET MENU, General Setup, and look for a Serial Port Input configured for "GRT Air Data Module" and change that input to Off. Or you can reset all the settings as in the other post....

Re: Reset to new, Mini GA

What??? That suggestion is insane! We wouldn't want to wipe out everyone's settings every time they load an update. Updates maintain previous settings on purpose. If you want to turn off the magnetometer input, you can go to SET MENU, General Setup, and turn off the Serial Port Input and Output that...

Re: Configuration Of Audio Alerts

Did anyone figure out how to turn off the "Traffic" audio alert? I see that it has no XXXX number associated with it so we cant overwrite it. Its obnoxious!!! To turn it off, go to SET MENU, General Setup, Audio and turn off "Traffic Alerts". We have plans to make the traffic al...

Re: SAP Depiction on MiniGA

The boxes are always turned on by SAP mode. You also get the cross track indicator on the GPS CDI (if enabled) and HSI once you capture the SAP course. SAP mode does not drive the yellow localizer/glideslope indicators.

Re: SAP Depiction on MiniGA

Yes, the flight director is a completely separate function. The SAP mode by itself creates the boxes you fly through and updates the course and cross track indicators. The height above the runway is displayed as part of the flight path marker, which is enabled by default and configured in SET MENU, ...
