Re: Getting GNS 480 to receive fuel flow
This turned out to be a non issue. The fuel data is getting to the 480. The endurance and fuel to destination are correct. The fuel flow display itself is zero but it must be an internal software glitch of the 480.

Re: Getting GNS 480 to receive fuel flow
Thanks for the suggestion Bob. I did check the settings this morning, but there is only one selection for fuel/air data z format on either HX.

Getting GNS 480 to receive fuel flow
I have a dual HX and a GNS 480 install. I can't get the fuel flow to appear on the 480. All the info is on the EFIS so I don't really need it but it bugs me that I can't get it over to the 480. Serial output from the HX is fuel/air data Z format at 9600 baud (although I have also tried the S and D f...

Re: Upgrade to New EX7?
Can't comment on the EX7, but I changed from dual WS to dual HX a while ago and it was a wonderful upgrade. Well worth it. You won't regret it! I would suggest the dual AHRS if you do it.
I also have the 480, SL40, and TruTrak VGSV as you do.

Re: HXr with Garmin 480 (cnx80) obs
As an additional note, on the 480 you must use ARINC #2 IN only. I should also point out that I got it to work for awhile, but it no longer does. Not sure what changed. If anyone figures it out, let me know!

Re: No Glideslope on ILS
Just a thought. What are the ARINC 429 outputs configured as in the 480 setup menu? If I remember one should be on GAMA and the other on VOR/ILS. Both should on Low. I can check tomorrow out at the hangar the specific readings if you like.

Re: No Glideslope on ILS
You need to have two pair arinc 429 connections to the GRT. One for the GPS and one for VOR/ILS. I have the analog connections but don't even have them turned on. The 480 has two available 429 out connections.

Re: Hx serial vs arinc429
You want to hook up two ARINC 429 connections from the 480 to the HX and one from the HX to the 480. The two out should be set to vor/ils and gama 429. The in connection should go to the #2 429 in port on the 480 and set the 480 to EFIS. All "low" settings. This will give you GPSS steering...

Re: Map Page Setup
Yes you have the choice of heading or track up displays. The first screen will be the arc display, the second screen the full compass rose display, the third screen will be the HSI display and finally the 4th button push will get you the north up display.

Re: ahrs and vibration
I am very pleased with my dual adaptive AHRS (and spare GPS). I would talk to GRT. I did have an issue when first installed and Greg and Jeff worked the problem until fully resoved.
