I recently changed the EIS from a 6000 to the R66 and have noticed that the OAT stays at 68 deg even though the temperature is significantly different. The value does not vary throughout the day. The sensor is the OAT 3 sensor type connected to pin 22 of connector A. Does this suggest a faulty probe or are there some offset/SF settings required for the newer EIS?
Thanks
Dale
OAT reads 68 deg and doesnt change
Re: OAT reads 68 deg and doesnt change
In the EFIS, go to SET MENU, General Setup, and set "Outside Air Temperature Source" to EIS to make sure you're reading the EIS OAT. For the OAT to stay constant it would need a constant resistance on the OAT input. 68 F would be around 12500 ohms resistance across the two wires of the probe. If it were disconnected, failed, or shorted it should go to some extremely cold or hot temperature like -50 or +127.
