I am trying to help a friend out with a Jabiru 230. It has a dual screen GRT set up. The power up screen show that the pilot side display is a Horizon, Series 1 HX and the passenger side indicated Horizon Series 1. I have been getting an no data from serial 1 error on the passenger side screen for a while, today it gave me "no GPS data from serial 1" and the system could not pick up GPS. The GPS has been working until today , but the serial 1 error has been going on a while. Any suggestions where to start?
Thanks
Andy

No suggestions because a lot more info is needed.
Go to the set up menu. What function is serial one dedicated to? Interdisplay link? Gps data?
Where is the GPS? Does the HX still see the GPS?

serial 1 is set to internal GPS (which appears to
be amodule screwed to back of unit with no external wires other than antenna). the serial 1 counter is not counting. The start up screen indicates that the two screens are communicating. serial 2 is ahrs
thanks

The settings apply only to the unit with the module attached. Does the counter stay at zero? Or does it run for a while, then stop? The counter should run as long as the serial rate is correct. Check the Serial Port 1 Rate. For the WAAS module, which has the antenna connection on top, it should be 4800. If the rate is incorrect, change the rate and then SAVE.
Is there another GPS unit in the system? You said the "No GPS data from Serial 1" was present for a while. That error would result in missing GPS data unless another GPS is in the system.
