Ah ok.

Since the mini has its own internal GPS and external antenna, does it not automatically pick off zulu time from the satellites that it could pass around?

I'm bench testing and doing setup away from the airplane right now, so I cant test this.

Yes, the Mini will automatically send the GPS time around once it gets GPS data as long as the receiver is getting satellite signals. The other screens should pick this up as long as they are set to Auto clock mode in SET MENU, General Setup, Clock (this is the default).
