On page 34 of the EIS manual, it states that to update software via the EFIS, a serial output from the EFIS to the EIS must be hooked up. I have used Serial port 4 on the EFIS for serial in and serial out to the EIS, hooked to the appropriate pins 10 and 11 on the EIS.
In the software config on the HX, I have Serial port 4 set to 9600 baud, and Serial Port 4 input defined as "EIS/Engine Monitor". This works fine to allow the EIS information to be displayed on the HX.
However, I cannot find any appropriate setting for Serial Port 4 output to talk to the EIS. Scrolling through all of the options does not reveal anything that is related to the EIS. What should this be set to?
I am using the latest HX software "5d + bluetooth" released in May of 2013.

EIS 6000 hookup to HX
Re: EIS 6000 hookup to HX
I believe this is a future option, not yet incorporated. So don't worry about it.
Re: EIS 6000 hookup to HX
The EIS software update function hasn't been implemented in the EFIS yet. For now, set the output to Off.
