In the General menu, theres Page selection -> Page flip: page#.....

My HXr came set with Page1: Last used PFD or PDF split, and Page2: last used Map.

Ive fiddled with this, set them to none, set them back, but cant see any differences with how the PDF or Maps come up, defaults etc when just set to None.

I dont find any manual guidance in the HX or HXr manuals.

Whats this for and how do we use it? 19 possible pages, it must be of some use.....

It is for the remote page flip analog input function. You can configure an analog input for Page Flip and then use it to change pages with a remote button like some have on their control stick. Normally you would turn on the internal pull-up and then use a momentary switch that grounds the input.
