GRT Avionics

2 Questions:
1)Can the HxR be configured to tune the 480 (like with the SL30)?
2)I have the Garmin connected via the ARINC to the HXr. Do I still need the Serial In from the Garmin? (I guess the answer might be different depending on the answer to #1)

I do not have a 480 so I do not know the answer as to what is required. However, running both the serial line and the ARINC lines gives some redundancy, should one fail.

1. The HXr can't tune a 480 (or 430, or anything similar).
2. Most of the GPS position and flight plan data comes from the serial input, so you still need it.
